Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Eye Associates of Monroe County the leading provider of vision care products and services in Stroudsburg.

John J. Glasner, O.D.

John J. Glasner IV O.D. is a native of Greentown, PA. He graduated from Wallenpaupack Area High School in 2000. He graduated from Lycoming College in 2004 where he double majored in Biology and Chemistry.
Dr. Glasner earned his Doctorate of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2008. He has been an associate of the practice since September of 2008. Dr. Glasner’s particular interests are in the fields of Glaucoma, Retina, and Pediatrics. Dr. Glasner has participated in a number of child vision screenings in the local area and has written articles for the local paper regarding vision problems in the pediatric population.
Away from the office, Dr. Glasner enjoys playing soccer, tennis, golf and skiing regularly. He was recently a member of the 2009 USTA 6.0 Mixed Doubles National Championship team and a 1999 State Soccer Semifinalist. In addition, Dr. G
lasner enjoys hiking, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors. He is committed to bringing the latest advances in eyecare technology to the area in order to meet the community’s ever-expanding visual needs.

Anthony S. Diecidue, M.S., O.D.

Dr. Diecidue graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1973. From 1973 to 1977 he attended Mansfield State University in Pennsylvania where he received his Bachelor’s degree in biology. He went on to receive a Masters degree in Microbiology from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 1983. At the same time he did bacterial research at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. For the next four years he attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University) in Philadelphia, Pa. where he attained his Doctor of Optometry degree along with a Bachelor’s degree in optics. He has been in practice since 1987.
Dr. Diecidue was one of the first to become certified in the use of therapeutic pharmacological agents for the treatment of eye diseases.
To keep abreast of the newest developments in eye care and treatment, Dr. Diecidue attends over 60 hours of continuing education seminars every two years.
Dr. Diecidue is an international lecturer and currently authors articles for optometric journals. He is a columnist for Review of Optometry and is a staff lecturer for the Southern Educational Council of Optometrists in Atlanta, Ga. He is an adjunct professor at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He has written and administered paraoptometric self assessment tests and has authored a CD-ROM based instructional course for paraoptometrics.
His special interests lie in Low Vision Rehabilitation, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease with particular interest in glaucoma management and children’s vision and contact lenses.
Dr. Diecidue is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. He was instrumental in helping the POA publish one of the first state association Internet web pages. He was President to the Pennsylvania Optometric Association in 2006, a Board member of the Practice Management Center at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and a Board member of the Vision Conservation Institute. He is also a member of the Technology Committee for the Southern Education Council of Optometrists.
He lives in Stroudsburg with his wife Sally (also an optometrist)
