Anthony S. Diecidue, M.S., O.D.
Dr. Diecidue graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1973. From 1973 to 1977 he attended Mansfield State University in Pennsylvania where he received his Bachelor’s degree in biology. He went on to receive a Masters degree in Microbiology from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 1983. At the same time he did bacterial research at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. For the next four years he attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University) in Philadelphia, Pa. where he attained his Doctor of Optometry degree along with a Bachelor’s degree in optics. He has been in practice since 1987.
Dr. Diecidue was one of the first to become certified in the use of therapeutic pharmacological agents for the treatment of eye diseases.
To keep abreast of the newest developments in eye care and treatment, Dr. Diecidue attends over 60 hours of continuing education seminars every two years.
Dr. Diecidue is an international lecturer and currently authors articles for optometric journals. He is a columnist for Review of Optometry and is a staff lecturer for the Southern Educational Council of Optometrists in Atlanta, Ga. He is an adjunct professor at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He has written and administered paraoptometric self assessment tests and has authored a CD-ROM based instructional course for paraoptometrics.
His special interests lie in Low Vision Rehabilitation, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease with particular interest in glaucoma management and children’s vision and contact lenses.
Dr. Diecidue is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. He was instrumental in helping the POA publish one of the first state association Internet web pages. He was President to the Pennsylvania Optometric Association in 2006, a Board member of the Practice Management Center at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and a Board member of the Vision Conservation Institute. He is also a member of the Technology Committee for the Southern Education Council of Optometrists.
He lives in Stroudsburg with his wife Sally (also an optometrist)
John J. Glasner, O.D.
John J. Glasner IV O.D. is a native of Greentown, PA. He graduated from Wallenpaupack Area High School in 2000. He graduated from Lycoming College in 2004 where he double majored in Biology and Chemistry.
Dr. Glasner earned his Doctorate of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2008. He has been an associate of the practice since September of 2008. Dr. Glasner’s particular interests are in the fields of Glaucoma, Retina, and Pediatrics. Dr. Glasner has participated in a number of child vision screenings in the local area and has written articles for the local paper regarding vision problems in the pediatric population.
Away from the office, Dr. Glasner enjoys playing soccer, tennis, golf and skiing regularly. He was recently a member of the 2009 USTA 6.0 Mixed Doubles National Championship team and a 1999 State Soccer Semifinalist. In addition, Dr. Glasner enjoys hiking, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors. He is committed to bringing the latest advances in eyecare technology to the area in order to meet the community’s ever-expanding visual needs.
Kathii is our office manager here at Eye Associates. Her job responsibilities include monitoring price trends on lenses, frames and contacts as well as stocking our dispensary with the latest fashions. Under Kathii’s constant watch we are able to make sure you are able to receive the best product with the best possible price.
As our manager, Kathii makes sure that the office is always adequately staffed to handle your needs, personally stepping in to fill in a gap whenever she is needed. Making sure the office runs smoothly is a vital part of making sure your visit with us is of the highest quality.
Kathii is also a certified Paraoptometric and is able to assist the doctor with the fitting of CRT lenses as well as implement a wide array of medical tests provided by our office.
Bobby Jo Unangst
Bobby Jo is a Paraoptometric. In our office she is responsible for many different tasks including clerical work as well as patient care. You will often see Bobby Jo performing pre-exam testing including visual assessments, color screening and ocular pressure evaluations. For those of you who wear contacts Bobby Jo will also help instruct you on how to wear your prescribed contacts.
Additionally if you are looking for glasses she can help you find the right frames and on occasion may even be able to process your lens order for you with our on site lab. If it is a Medical testing that brings you to our office then Bobby Jo can also help you, as she is trained to use both our threshold visual field instrument and our digital retinal camera.
Diane is our billing and insurance manager. Her daily responsibilities including retrieving pre-authorization and necessary referrals for both your visual and medical needs. Diane also takes care of submission to insurance and doing our part to make sure all claims are submitted and filed as per your insurance company’s specification.
